K.S.A. 17-7925: Who Qualifies

Four kinds of agents pass muster under the statute. Quoting the first directly, "the covered entity itself" may serve, so a Kansas LLC can be its own agent. Beyond that, eligibility extends to any individual residing in Kansas, any domestic corporation, LP, LLP, LLC, or business trust, and any foreign one of those authorized to transact business in the state.

K.S.A. 17-7924 pairs the agent with a registered office: a physical Kansas location where the agent can actually be found. The expectation is presence, not a mail drop. During ordinary business hours, a process server walking through that door should find someone authorized to accept papers for your LLC.
